Invoice Production is fast…
GDS Workshop manager, our garage software suite, automatically pulls through the Customer and Vehicle details once the Customer code or Vehicle Registration is entered. The Invoice Details screen can have lines of detail grouped into relevant sections, such as Parts, Labour, MOT etc., as required. Sections can be created and stored as Menu Jobs to automatically fill in an invoice with often used descriptions, quantities and prices. Stock Parts and Detailed VAT & Totals Analysis are displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can optionally enable the setting to enter Cost Prices to see a screen only Profit Total.
Purchase Invoice Entry Purchase Invoices and Credit Notes can be entered onto the system…
Invoices can automatically update stock quantities for Stock Items using the garage software. Individual items on the Invoice can be linked to Customers in order to aid part warranty checks in the future. Purchased Parts can be added directly to Sales Invoices which maintains a link to the Purchase Invoice for future reference.
Integrated Repair Times, Service Schedules and Parts database.
GDS Workshop Manager can optionally include a Repair Times and Service Schedules database which can be accessed directly from within the system. Vehicle Times and Service Schedules can be looked up on-the-fly as required, or accessed from within the Jobsheet, Estimate and Invoice screens to allow times to be automatically entered directly onto document being worked on. Service Schedules for cars and LCVs can be printed.

Having used a well known motor trade software provider for many years, including assisting them with developing improvement, and recommending their software to countless independent garage owners, (we were their largest customer at the time of purchase with a server on site and seven work stations) it was disappointing to learn they would be moving over to a web based platform. Of particular disappointment was they made it clear that they were withdrawing support for those customers that wanted and arguably needed to stay on a server based system. Their proposal was to move from a full dealer management solution which was excellent, to separate modules excluding accounts and car sales.. They suggested that we look elsewhere for a car sales package from another provider – we did!
I am delighted we found a new garage software suite, GDS Workshop manager. From the start the team at GDS were receptive to our requirements, keen to work with us, listen and more importantly act on feedback to make improvements to their system. Of course there were teething difficulties, as always when moving from one provider to another, and our staff were less than keen to change. We had no choice, and are delighted that we found GDS. The training at the beginning, support on launch day and after was magnificent, the help desk team are excellent – two years in we still feel the same, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend GDS.
